Quick request! Any special Swiss foods (Basel) should not miss?

Leaving early tomorrow for a few days of fun. I have got a lot of tips from here already, as usual.

Can you think of any dish we definitely should be sure to try? (besides fondue and chocolate)?

thanks!

Raclette, which is a large wheel of cheese that's melted little by little and bits pushed off onto a warmed plate. The cheese is served with boiled potatoes and sometimes pickles and/or onions. Lovely!

Basler Leckerli: Chewy but hard cookies made with honey.

It's "wild" season. You'll find game on most menu cards. Hirsch = elk and Reh = deer. The side dishes are wonderful and worth trying. If you don't like game, ask for a plate of spätzli and vegetables only.

Go to the bakery and see if they have any seasonal cookies. In our area we have "krapfli", a flat deep-fried pastry with a pear filling.

thank you. just got back and have to admit we did not eat as MUCH as we had planned in these restaurants. We found the food VERY expensive, but did have a fondue at Walliser Kanne.

Enjoyed the glazed almond croissants at bachmann and other cookies here and there.

whenever we were hungry we basically had heavy snacks, fruit and too much coffee and pastries!

we had a great time, and i thank you for your help, although i certainly didnīt put it to the test.
maybe next time.
