Quick question - Taxi or shuttle from Paris CDG to 5th?

Hi again, just a quick one...
I've finally arranged an apartment in the 5th- looks lovely, hopefully not too noisy!!
We are a family of 4 (for this trip!) 2 adults, 2 children.
I have the option of taking the shuttle from CDG to the 5th for 22 euro each total of 88 euro or a taxi.
Does anyone happen to know what a taxi to this area would cost? It's on Rue St Severin. Even a rough Idea would be great.
Any help would be great, just trying to complete the booking details, Thanks for any help, Regards, JT

A taxi would be cheaper...probably around 60 Euros. I always ask the driver how much he charges before I step in the cab and that way you can judge whether you feel he's going to take you for a different kind of ride. Plus with a taxi you don't have to wait while he drops other riders off.

A taxi will be 55-60 euros assuming normal traffic.

There's no need to ask the taxi driver how much he charges if you get a Taxi Parisien (which is the only taxi you want anyway - don't let someone walk up to you and offer you a taxi ride; go to the designated spot at the airport). The rates are the same for all of them. No taxi driver is going to be able to give you an exact figure, as it all depends on the traffic, whether there are déviations because of construction, etc. If you want to confirm with the driver that the cost will be about 55-60 euros, sure, do it.

Francofreak and StCirq,
Thanks so much for that, I'll take a taxi and make sure we're in the right spot!! It's getting sooo exciting.

Shuttle Inter is 65 Euro for 4 people in a private car, about the same as a taxi will run. I prefer the shuttle because there is no meter running if you run into an accident or a traffic jam on the way in. And that has happened to us!

Hi T,

>A taxi will be 55-60 euros assuming normal traffic.

Unless you arrive during rush hour on a holiday weekend, when it will be about 80E.
