Quick Question --Glasgow to Dublin

I have been busy booking lodging for my trip next summer. It makes my day to plan trips. For some reason I want to double check to make sure I understand this one part. I plan to leave Glasgow using a sail/rail ticket to Dublin. I just feel a need to make 100% sure I am doing this correctly since it is a little more complicated. We will leave on a train from Glasgow and also take a ferry from Cairnryan to Larne. Then the next morning I thought we would do the quick train to Belfast and another to Dublin Heuston station. I realize that there will be a short tram (I think that is the word people use) needed for the last 15 minutes to Heuston station

Does that plan work? I have seen people mention that ferries won't run in horrible weather. This will be in mid June. Maybe that helps. It appears it is the PO Ferry?

Would Larne be where we would go from Glasgow? I am planning to book a quaint little b and b next week there, but I don't want to find out next year when I book the sail/rail part that I am not going through Larne. ..and I am aware there are planes that get me there in an hour. I just want to make sure that I am correct on Larne.

Larne is correct. I know you 'know' about flying. Is your focus of this trek to get to Dublin, or is the focus 'slow travel' and taking a ferry?? Since it doesn't seem you plan on exploring Belfast I'd really consider flying - both for time savings and cost.

Perfect. I have my eye on a couple of bed and breakfasts.

Yes.. I think we are more about the journey than the destination during our traveling. I just asked my son if he would prefer a one hour flight or a 12 hr. drive (He doesn't know where we are going on vacation so I couldn't say train and ferry). He said he will ride in the car for 12 hours.
