questions about italy

We will be going to Italy in Oct. As everyone has suggested want to try to pack light but figure we will need to do laundry around the time we arrive in Rome. I have a tendency to over pack but trying to control myself. Does anyone know of a centrally located laundromat in Rome? Also does anyone know of a walking tour or other tour of all the works of Michelangelo in Florence? Thanks so much.

Hi luvitaly, if you don't get an answer just ask about a landromat at the hotel you will be staying at and they will be able to tell you the nearest one. I have used them in Rome but don't remember locations. I used the service where they washed and dried the clothes which worked well.

Hi luvitaly, I did see your post of 8-31 and I am glad I could help. When I first came onto Fodor's it took me awhile to figure out eveything also. Do enjoy your time in Italy and don't worry about the laundry in Rome, like figuring out Fodor's you will find a way to get your laundry done in Rome. Have a beautiful trip!!

If you are staying near Piazza Navona, the Pantheon or Campio dei Fiori, the following laundromat might be useful.

If you are on Corso Vittorio Emannuelle II and facing Chiesa Nuovo, look down the calle on the left hand side of the church and there is a laundromat there. It will be on your right-hand side as you walk down the calle.

Rick Steves' guidebooks usually give locations of local laundromats.
