Susan: I did provide all the information. My request was "land only" so I did not include the departure city which was irrelevant. My issue was not that they did not provide the quote, but the very rude initial email.

I contacted other internet companies with very similar requests and found the response was generally along these lines: Thank you so much for contacting Go Ahead Tours to assist with your vacation plans! We look forward to helping you with all aspect of your travel planning. Please note; however, that we can not provide a quote at this time because you have not provided your departure city. Once we have this information we will be happy to assist you. Yada Yada. It may be a form letter but at least it sounds friendly.

My email said. We cannot provide a quote unless you provide 1, 2, 3, 4.

As I mentioned, I had all of this information in the email except one piece that was not relevant. If someone does not sound happy to have my business I suspect their service level will be subpar. Their are plenty of other companies that came through with the quotes without telling me "good luck!"

I recently had a bad experience with Palvus Travel (tickets were booked for the wrong date, got incorrect info about airport transfer,never got frequent flyer miles due to paperwork error, etc). The actual Globus tour was fine but the finanacial savings from Palvus were not worth the aggrevation. I have written letters, completed surveys, sent emails and called Craig Palvus and had no response from him. STAY AWAY from Palvus Travel!!

Any more comments on this subject? I'm currently in the process of getting information, and out of 3 internet webs got an answer from Affordable Tours only, a quote with air first.

As I want to buy my own air I replied to AT on Sunday asking for a quote for land only. This morning got an answer from the same person, land only, 10% discount off the tour.

I will wait a few days, hopefully the other 2 (Pavlus and VacationsToGo) will answer, after that I want to call Globus and ask if they give me the same discount. If not I'll buy from one of the websites.

I have used Pavlus several times to get a discount on a tour, including a Globus tour, and have been very happy with them. My parents have used them more than once too. In fact, they were the ones to recommend Pavlus to me. We both worked with the same travel agent at Pavlus and she is wonderful. Her name is Mindy Green and she has always been very responsive, both by email and by phone.

Pavlus is the best! Have used them numerous times. Disney cruises, european tours, they always give the best prices and best service.
