Puglia/Polignano a Mare

Where does one park a car to visit/stay in the old town of Polignano a Mare? We are deciding whether to stay there or on the highway just off the autostrada in mid Oct. Thanks.

Hi, Mati -

For what it's worth, I can't imagine "staying just off the autostrada" with the Hotel Grotta Palazzese right there in Polignano a Mare! Whether you visit or stay, do consider having dinner at the Grotta Palazzese if it is still open in mid-Oct - what an amazing place! Outstanding food and service, stunning - absolutely stunning - setting. See:

If you reserve dinner or a room there, I'm sure the Grotta Palazzese can give you information about where to park. I seem to remember a parking lot by the train station, as well as on-street parking, but I don't know who may use those spaces.

Enjoy!

Hi,

In Polignano don't miss Tuccino a mare, IMHO the most amazing seafood restaurant in Puglia with the freshest octopus I ever had and a great wine list with very moderate prices.
Enjoy it for me too!

Thanks for the suggestions and help. We are looking at a small apartment in the Cittá Vecchia instead of GP hotel; it does look lovely though! We will certainly check out Tuccino.

Hi all. I started a similar thread discussing a route from Polignare al Mare (after flying from Athens into Bari) up through Gran Sasso toward Firenze. Is it possible to fly into Brindisi from Athens? I was thinking I can't be that far south and not go to Alberobello to see the Trulli. From the Brindisi airport, it's not that far to there and then back to PaM for the night to be able to at least see the cave restaurant and maybe dine at the other place mentioned above. Does that seem feasible?

@ Redlandsneed: Topping a 10-year old thread by someone who hasn't posted here in years is not likely to get you a good answer. I would urge you either add to your current post or to start a new thread. You can check your flight options using a variety of online search engines. And do pay attention to whether you want the airport in Brindisi or the one in Bari. I know you can get to both Polignano a Mare and Alberobello easily by train from Bari. I believe I already suggested rome2rio.com?
