Public transit in Glasgow

We're leaving soon for Glasgow. I have the Traveline Scotland app, and it appears a bus route is right in front of our hotel, so that looks like the best option. But don't know about getting tickets, etc.

Any public transit tips (ala Oyster Cards for London?)

Thanks, sofar. We probably won't take the bus until the second day we're in Glasgow, so will be able to figure out fares and get change. Right now, I think one one-day pass will do: the rest of the time we'll use transit one or two times a day.
