PSA: Lyon featured on the Travel Channel tonight!
Samantha Brown visits Lyon in the episode of Passport to Europe tonight. I'm still on the fence about whether I like her . . . but, I'm thrilled that they're highlighting Lyon before we visit there in December!

I think this may be a re-run, but if it is the episode I'm thinking about, you'll really enjoy it. I never had any interest in ever returning to France, but Samantha Brown shows some things that really piqued my interest. The other episode tonight is set in Stockholm. It's on again at 11:00 EST. I'll be watching Flyer hockey and taping these shows.

I have been to Lyon, and have to say that it is a fabulous city with fantastic food.
However, I hate Samantha Brown with a passion. She is the Rachel Ray of travel, and you all know how I feel about Rachel Ray.
I will try to watch the show tonight, if I can stomach Sam Brown for more than 2 minutes.
Bon nuit, mon amis

This was a tough call. Rudy Maxa was on at the same time with his Amsterdam and the Netherlands segment, in high definition. Luckily, Samantha Brown did a nice ten minutes on Lyon food and bicycle renting, then spent time on textile weaving, or some such, enabling me to switch to Rudy in time to see Anne Frank house. Anyway, I think I decided to visit Lyon on my upcoming trip even before I watched this Samantha Brown show.

"I've seen this show and SB totally misses the main points , as usual..."
Twenty minutes into the show, my husband said, "I feel like we haven't seen anything and there are only 10 minutes left."
This wasn't my favorite episode. She spent at least 5 minutes of on-air time in a silk factory that is not even open to the public.
But, since we're staying at the Villa Florentine, I was excited to see more of that.
By the way, is this woman any relation to Karen Brown?
