Thanks for your many responses to my original posting. We are leaving for our trip in two days!

Your many suggestions were wonderful, but we have chosen to stay in a B&B just outside of Maussane les Alpilles, near St. Remy, Le Moulin des Greaux. Le Moulind des Greaux has an air-conditioned, single story guest house that will be perfect for our parents. Also, it is a walkable distance to town. We decided that this area would be better "walking" for older people because of its flatter terraine than, for example, the Luberon areas. However, we will still be within an hour drive of the Luberon and many other wonderful parts of Provence.

Our parents get around pretty well, but I don't see any reason to make things difficult for them. That is the reason for the concerns expressed in my original post.

Our parents are very excited, as are we. Thanks for your good wishes. I will convey to them your congrats on their anniversary celebration. And I'll be eager to write a trip report upon our return. Au revoir!
