You have a Paris photo of a clock overgrown with vines. Do you remember where that was taken?

It was in a very small park in the Marais..we just happened upon it.

We were in Paris and Provence at about the same time as you. I loved your photos - it brought back so many wonderful memories. We were in the market on Sunday when your pictures were taken. We stayed in Gordes and I am ready to return very soon.

The clock tower is at the Gare de Lyon Train station. It is a lovely old building. The restaurant inside Le Train Bleu has the most beautiful frescoes.

I have only just had time to glance at a few this morning, but you have a great eye! Good composition, well done!

Thank you flygirl, my husband and I both take turns with the camera. I'm usually responsible for all the photos with animals and flowers. Truth be told he likely has a better eye for composition.

You have some absolutely wonderful photos. All the photos of quaint little cities, flowers, animals, city streets. What an artistic eye you have!

I appreciate your taking the time to place so many albums and locations online for others to view. We were afraid of taking many photos of everyday life on our trip to Europe two years ago, more considerate of offending those who live there. My next trip, I will be more liberal with the camera and catching photos such as yours.

One question: I looked in your 2007 album for Sarlat. That wouldn't happen to be Rick Steves in that photo, would it?

Thank you for your kind remarks. Our friends and family must think us odd that we hardly ever take photos of ourselves while on vacation. We love catching the essence of our destination. A women once saw us taking a photo of her cat sleeping in her flower pot. I showed her the photo afterwards and she was thrilled...she kept saying bella...bella and had the most wonderful smile on her face.

Yes, that was Rick Steves. He was shooting a show on the Dordogne when we happened to be there last year. We ran into him several times..at Beynac Castle..at a restaurant in Beynac...at a restaurant in La Roque Gageac and then at the Sarlat Market. We were pretty sure by that time he thought we were stalking him. He actually asked us to be in one of the shots for Beynac Castle so you never know, we might have our 5 minutes of fame if its ever released.

Hi - I know it's been a while as your posts are from "08 but I'd love your advice - I've booked a house in Sablet but realized that I might want to be more south - I want to spend a day in Cassis and a day in Aix. You listed on many posts your opinions of towns - is Sablet too far north?Thanks!!!!

Not sure when you will be there, but I was in Provence in May a few years ago. The weather was great! While we were based in Isle sur la Sorgue, we visited Sablet and the surrounding villages. That area was one of my favorites in the region. It is also very easy to drive from Sablet to Avignon, Arles, Les Baux, Aix etc. Cassis might be better as an overnight, but you probably could do it as a day trip if you wanted. I think if you are looking for a small, quiet village and you have a car to explore the region, then Sablet is a perfect spot.
