Protein bars to Italy

Can I take 30 protein bars into Italy from the U S in my checked luggage?

There shouldn't be a problem, but why? Italians eat real food with lots of protein!

I take protein bars (although only a few), usually in my carry-on.

Daniela --

Have you ever had any problems with packed protein bars in checked luggage going to Europe?

Why not bring a few and then buy more in Italy? It's a civilized country with lots of shops. Maybe you will find some new version or taste that you will like. Or maybe it will be exactly the same as you would have brought from home. The only possible reason I could see for bringing so many from home would be if you had checked the prices and found them to be a lot more expensive in Italy.

Perhaps the OP is taking a gift. When we traveled to visit my husband's daughter in Munich we HAD to bring butterfingers and mini-Reeses. And naturually, it wasn't as if she couldn't get delightful chocolate there...it wasn't the same. She learned to love those candies studying at William & Mary. She never got the Virginia peanuts tho...mmmm.
