Website is down. I just tried it and got a message in Italian telling me the system is down and to try again later.

Try later, because here in italy is a mess when the strike so thats why is off.

strike is over. there was a train strike from 9:00p.m. saturday to 9:00p.m. sunday.

thanks for the update. How often does this happen. (I am clueless about European travel.) My daughter will be traveling to Italy solo at the end of this week and depending on rail service. Should we be concerned?

Hi blackbird,

One of the nice things about Italy is that the spontaneous eruptions of worker anger that result in wildcat strikes are announced in advance.

You can usually find a list of all the scheduled transportation strikes here: http://scioperi.oinko.net/ But that webiste doesn't seem to be working either.
