Private Transportation in Provence and French Reviera
I am making preliminary inquiries for a possible trip to Provence, then to the French Reviera in April. We are 5 sisters making a weeks trip to celebrate two big birthdays.
We choose not to rent a car this time. Most of us have done extensive traveling with a car but not this time. So we are wondering if there is a recommendation for a private tranfer from the Marseilles airport to our hotel in Avignon. Then 4-5 days later we will want to transfer to Nice, hopefully via the Gorge du Verdun. Also in the plan is to do daytrips from our hotel is both places.
As for hotels--presently we are considering the Hotel Colbert in Avignon and the Hotel Windsor in Nice. Any recommendations on these hotels or other suggestions?
I am sure that I will have more questions later, but for now, Thanks, Margo

You could save a fair amount of money by going from Marseille to Avignon by train--a taxi or private car would be quite expensive. You could take the shuttle from the airport to the train station (St. Charles).

Going from Avignon to Nice via the Gorge du Verdon will certainly require a private car and driver. Check with Hertz and Avis, and you might also get in touch with autoeurope.com or sixt.com.
