Priceline, other discount sites for Rome hotels?

I am looking for recent stories, positive or negative, from anyone who has booked a hotel in Rome using Priceline or another discount site. Stories and advice - do's/don'ts - will be appreciated.

I haven't used Priceline for Rome so can't help. Look at biddingfortravel.com. It is a website explaining dos and don'ts of priceline bidding and how to bid. Have used them for London and USA. Very happy.

I am posting to give you a personal recommendation. We stayed at Fellini Bed & Breakfast for 6 nights in March.
It was very affordable..100 euros for a double. The owner couldn't have been nicer. It has about 4 or 5 rooms, a sitting room, breakfast area and a very nice balcony. The view from the window looked straight over to the Presidential Palace. Rooms small but beautiful decoration, comfortable large bed, high ceilings and carved mouldings. Windows with great soundproofing. No street noise. It is air conditioned, bath very nice with marble and towel warmer. I booked it through Venere.com I have used them for Europe bookings several times with excellent results. Fellini consistently gets 5 star ratings from feedback. Oh, there is also a nice room safe. Very handy indeed since Rome has many pickpockets. I lost my garnet and diamond bracelet off of my arm and did not realize it. The cleaner found it outside of my room and returned it to me the next morning at breakfast.

I searched and searched for hotels in Rome at a decent price before finding this recommendation. I could not have been more pleased. I forgot to say about the great location..a couple of blocks from the Trevi Fountain and a few blocks to Spanish Steps. Easy walking to many attractions.

Have a happy trip.
