We've got Paris hotel reservations for September (at the Parc Saint Severin, in case anyone wants to rant or rave) and we're hunting for air fares. It's a little tricky because we DON'T want to stay over on a Saturday, which kills a lot of the airline deals. <BR> <BR>A consolidator can put us on Iceland air with a stopover in Reykyavik for about $420 RT. Was hoping to find something cheaper. <BR> <BR>Priceline sounds intriguing, but I'm nervous about that "mandatory stopover". I mean, they could take us to Tokyo for 8 hrs, right? It seems you have to commit to your price before you know the specific itinerary, which scares us. <BR> <BR>Also, we're hoping to leave on a Sunday night and arrive Monday a.m. But if I enter "Sunday Departure" do I end up needing a room for Sunday night? <BR> <BR>Anyone with Priceline experience, please help! <BR> <BR>Thanks, <BR>Craig

- <BR>Craig, you didn't say where you'll be flying from - but roundtrip to Paris for $420 in Sept? That sounds like a good fare to me! <BR>I've not tried Priceline, but have ready several strings discussing other experiences (usually either VERY pro or con). From those I do know that you have to carefully read the rules and factor the taxes, etc. which will be added on to your bid price.

I would be very interested to know the name of the consolidator who gave you that $420 RT fare on Icelandair. The lowest fare on the Icelandair website is higher than that from every north american gateway, AND it requires a minimum 7 day stay. <BR> <BR>I'd say buy it today! <BR> <BR>Their fly+hotel deal certainly looks good at $389 to $509 (dbl occ) for two nights in Paris until Mar 31 (2001? starting when? perhaps november?) <BR> <BR>Best wishes, <BR> <BR>Rex

Craig, I booked two tickets from Dallas to Paris for October through Priceline. Round trip was $350 each and we fly Dallas to Newark and then to CDG. Return flight is CDG to Houston then to Dallas. I received a "yes" on my first try, so maybe $350 was too high to start at. Our carrier is Continental and the same flights (if booked through them) list at around $750 each for our dates of travel.
