Preg. with triplets! Help change Ireland itinerary please!
Bear with me! I have been allowed to travel (still early on!) Have whole trip planned. Flying into Dublin with husband and parents for the night to see friend (that part can't change) Then flying to Shannon to pick up 2 rentals then go to:
Doolin (one night)/cliffs of Moor (next AM)
Dingle Peninsula (two nights)
Cahir (via Vee gap)/Cahir Castel
Cashel (one night)/ Rock of Cashel
Drive back to Dublin and leave the next morning
We rented two cars and all hotels are booked. Second guessing the driving all over and wonder if there is a better way to see all the above sites flying into somewhere else (Cork?) and taking day trips via tour bus or is that worse? If there is an emergency I figure the tour guide would have more info on where to go and be able to call. That is my only concern...Thanks all!

Ditto Scarlett!

I should think if you are early on in your pregnancy you should be fine.
Perhaps you could ensure you have a mobile phone and also a good map and keep a note on where you are so that should you need assistance you can easily call for it and tell them just where you are.
But you must do what feels comfortable because if you're stressed or worried that won't be good for you all.
TAKE CARE and enjoy your trip!

tana, Congratulations x three! I think you should stick with your original plan. Traveling around by car you can set your own pace as opposed to having to abide by the strict time restraints of tours. In your own car, you can make frequent stops and plan enjoyable days of sightseeing that break up the drives involved.
I agree completely that you should rent a mobile phone and keep track of where you are. If you have a problem just dial 999 for emergency services. The hotels you are staying in will have contacts for doctors in each area. You can ask them in advance to send you the emergency phone numbers for these doctors. And doctors make house calls in Ireland!
The Irish Medical Directory online will give you listings of hospitals in the areas you will be traveling: http://www.imd.ie/
It is perfectly reasonable to be anxious but with these resources I think you can relax and know that you have prepared ahead of time for your trip. Enjoy your trip and your triplets.

There are hospitals in all major cities and smaller regionalones. Just be aware of the main ones when travelling and when you definately decide the itinerary I can check the hospitals for you here in Ireland. Its very easy to Fly from Dublin to Cork, Galway etc. It may be easier for you.

tana, I am glad that you are feeling better about your trip and that I could help a little. I always think that the more informed you can be, the more relaxed your trip will be. I hope that in about 8 months you will give each of your triplets a kiss from me!
