Prebooking European attractions
I was just informed me in my paris itinerary thread that you can pre-book Paris sights ahead similar to Venice (there is already an ongoing thread about it).
Can you please tell me how to prebook the Paris sights? I only thought that you can skip lines by buying the museum pass.
I will be going to these other cities: Rome; London and Versailles. Are there any other prebooking facilities available for the main sightseeing attractions in these cities?

The few times I've been to Paris, I've only ever pre-booked a couple of non-essential things, but for ease of budgeting it was easier!
I took my australian cousin over for a couple of days, and we used the open top bus, and just hopped on and off for 2 days, and saw loads. didn't encounter many queues, but it was january. In the height of summer, i've not gone to place, ie the louvre and eiffel tour because the queues were immense.
In london, you could try the london pass, have a look at londontown.com for more info

In London you can buy tickets to a number of the major attractions from some of the Underground stations. I believe you can buy them several days ahead if you happen to be in that station. Last time I was there I bought my Madame Tussauds and Tower of London tickets at Piccadilly station and walked past the 200m queues at both places (May/June). The queue at the underground ticket counter was much shorter (about 5 people).

Forgot Paris..
I haven't read the other thread, but you can prebook the Moulin Rouge through their website http://www.moulinrouge.fr/home-flash-gb.html. However, I found it cheaper to book a river cruise and Moulin Rouge show combined tour through Cityrama Tours (Gray Line) for 94 Euro as opposed to the show only at the Moulin Rouge for 97 Euro (87 Euro if you go at 11pm). http://www.graylineparis.com/

The only things I have ever prebooked in Paris are tickets to the ballet, theater, and concerts. No sights that I can think of require prebooking. The museum pass is all you need to skip the lines at Versailles and the major museums.
In Rome, you can prebook the Scavi tour at the Vatican and the Galleria Borghese.

Nothing much in Lolndon needs to be pre-booked - except for blockbuster musicals/plays, and some special exhibitions at various galleries and museums.
Same in Paris really. No need to pre-book anything except opera, ballet, maybe a special concert (one can usually get concert tix on or close to the day of performance) and special exhibitions.

What Parisian sights are you talking about that you want to prebook? There aren't any that I can think of. Of course you can buy theater or opera tickets ahead of time, as in any city, but that isn't a tourist attraction.
YOu can buy a few museum tickets in advance as singles, rather than the museum pass, if you want. It isn't booking in my terms, as you don't have a reservation for a certain time or anything. I don't know that the person meant in that other post, but it was only one person who said that and they only mentioned prebooking a couple museums.
YOu can buy advance museum tickets for the Orsay and Louvre on a couple ticket agency websites (www.fnac.com and www.ticketnet.fr). Of course, you can buy them in Paris at those agencies in person, also. YOu will have to go there to pick them up, anyway, so doing it online really doesn't serve any purpose for museums, as there isn't any shortage of a general Orsay or Louvre admission ticket. fnac.com is only in French, I think, but ticketnet.fr has some English. That agency is in the Virgin records stores (on Champs-Elysees and down in the bottom store area of the Louvre). There are FNACs all over, but also one on the CHamps-Elysees and near the Bastille column.
YOu do pay a slight fee for doing that, but proportionately it's kind of high (a couple euro each ticket). So, a 7-8 euro museum ticket may cost you 10 euro at those places. If you don't want a pass, though, it makes sense if you really want that. You can buy Versailles tickets at FNAC, but also from RER stations in combination with the RER ticket fare, if you want. I think you can get them at the Paris Tourism place down in the carrousel du Louvre location, also.
