prague to Split - train, bus, or plane?
We'll be trying to do three locations in 3 weeks - 6 days Prague, 6 days dalmation coast and 6 days amalfi coast. Planning to take the ferry from dubrovnik to bari and the drive to Ravello. Question is the best way to get from Prague to Split - we can rent a car one way or take a train. Flying is attractive due to the compressed time but unsure as to what airlines to investigate. thx

I think an airline called smartwings flies directly from Prague to Split, but I don't know how reliable they are. Otherwise, you might have to fly through Zagreb on Croatia Airlines. You can drive it in 1 really long day (about 12 hours) or split it into 2 days with a stop in Vienna or Graz. But, I don't know if you can rent a car in Prague and return it in Split.

If you do that, then rent the car in Zagreb and you can drive to Dubrovnik. Definitely go to Plitvice National Park (stupendous!) on the way. When in Dubrovnik, sit at the eighth wonder of the world...The Buza Bar. Have a small bottle of wine, put it on my tab that will never be paid and enjoy the wonderful ambiance that is the Buza Bar.

Click on the link below for my travel website. Then click on Kraków to Dubrovnik 2008 and Dubrovnik to Plitvice 2008. There is a lot about Croatia in there with numerous pictures of the Buza Bar in Dubrovnik and Plitvice National Park. As I said in the report, no pictures can do justice for that national park. It was wonderful. Have a great time, but stay away from the Slivovitz. It's lethal alcohol in a bottle.
