The Wenceslas Square area IS quite tacky compared to the far nicer Mala Strana area. Of course the Opera House is nice and so are other buildings and restaurants in the vicinity. Not so nice are the stag and hen parties that congregate around there and the Old Town Square on weekend nights. Men can get bothered by prostitutes in that area after dark - not threatening, just a bit of a nuisance, and of course wherever tourists throng there is always the threat of pickpockets. Save yourself the bother and stay somewhere else - but do visit during the day and enjoy.

So there are some prostitutes around. Big deal. I used to live in a building with 2 high-priced call girls and a drag queen. They were my BEST neighbours.

We all can't be vicars' wives, sweetie darling.

... or indeed strange little men who enjoy the company of prostitutes. Given the choice, I'd prefer to avoid them while on holiday (the strange little men that is).
