And I would love to hear about inexpensive, not terribly touristy places to eat - although I have a couple in mind: One in Mala by Kinsky Park called Artisan, one is the restaurant in the Brevnov Klaster (forget the name) and one is Bodinic, which used to be U Petrske Veze up near Florenc. Kolkovna seems to be popular, if it's not too terribly touristy. of course, after being on a river cruise through Germany, and then getting to Prague, I suspect my husband will be yearning for sushi or something completely different from any interesting place I've found!!
Anyway, suggestions welcome, and they don't have to be in the usual tourist spots - we don't mind taking a tram or metro ride!

U Medvidku is always been a favoured spot of mine, near the Narodni trida metro, does great food and supperb beer, yeah it has a lot of tourists in there but it is very reasonably priced.
Not far from thee is the Cafe Louvre
http://www.cafelouvre.cz/en/
I was in there with Jason who runs the Living Prague website
http://www.livingprague.com/
It is a stunning place, not cheap by czech standard but not too expensive either.
Another place I enjoyed very much was U Karla a Svejk themed bar a few doors down from U Fleku on Kremenkova ( I stayed in theis street last year)
http://www.svejk-restaurant.cz/en/
food was great and portions huge, beer was pretty good.
Any place I mention tend to be because of the Beer I like trying different places but usually find if the beer is good then the food is good too.
The Sklep resturant
http://www.restauracesklep.cz/
on Seifertova, right opposite the Viktoria Zizkov football ground was our first stop in May and the food was excellent (as was the beer)I only ate there once my my nephew and his mate ate there a few times as their hotel was nearby.it is only a couple of tram stops from the city centre.
I will probably post again when things come into my head but hopefully this gives you some more ideas.
