Also interested in this! I'd like to go to Prague and maybe Krakow in March. I know it will be cold, but will all the sites be closed? I'd like to go to Cesky Krumlov, and my guidebooks gives castle hours from April until November.

Where in Italy are you going? I loved Italy, but I was there in August/Spetember. It must be great all year round!

I have just been to Prague last week and have been there spring, summer, autumn and winter. You never know what you get. March can be anything, sunny or rainy but never too hot. For the Como lake is definitely too early, I would never go there that early in the year.

When I was studying abroad in Paris, we visited Prague, Vienna, Venice, FLorence and Rome at the end of March-mid-April. There was a snow storm with freezing temperatures in Prague and Vienna. Prague looked beautiful covered in snow! Italy was mostly mild, we have pictures of us in Rome in a cafe, sitting outside, 1 week after standing in snow in Prague. Basically, be prepared for any kind of weather and pack accordingly. Definitely bring a waterproof winter jacket.
