Prague Hotel: U Cerveneho Lva

I'm going to Prague in early November and have a reservation here (known in english as "The House At The Red Lion"). Anyone ever stay here?

Thanks, but that posting didn't include a message from anyone that had stayed at the hotel.
Hi Evan. I don't know the hotel, but I looked it up in the phone book (you sound so desperate!) It's on Nerudova street, which is one of the main streets leading up to the Prague Castle. Traffic on the street is limited to residents or taxis. You're about three minutes from the Castle, about 8 minutes from the Charles Bridge (walking times). Don't forget to climb up the tower at the St. Vitus Cathedral (just up the street and in the castle area) for a truly amazing view of Prague (oops, I'm not sure it it's open in November. If so, do it!!) Incidentally, the phone book says the hotel has seven luxurious double rooms and two apartments. Hope this helps!

I'm going to the same hotel in mid-november. If you're back before the 12th let me know if it's a good place to stay.

Evan and Wendy, Plea se post a message when you return. We're going to Prague this Spring and would like your opinons regarding location, price, ensuite, etc. We previously stayed at City Hotel Moran. It is a best Western in a reasonable location, but it was $125 per night and I think that we should be able to do better. Thanks, Tom

We found Penzion Balbin on Balbinova (near Muzeum Metro & Wencelas Sq) at AVE Accommodations at [email protected]
It is the top floors of an apartment bldg. with locked door to street, so safe. It is clean, shower & toilet in room, helpful English-speaking staff, skylights, serve yourself breakfast & 5-10 min. walk from just about anywhere for $35/night for 2. Rooms are good size. We just told AVE what we needed & they found it for us.
