Has anyone stayed here recently? Suites are good?

Thanks.

I stayed there in Oct 02 - it's near the US Embassy so traffic is restricted - which in someways is nice but the implications not so nice. I like the hotel - my room was very spacious - big bathroom - love seat, wet bar. The only downer - they were working on a garden so I overlooked a pit and construction got me out of the room by 10 am. I would imagine it's finished by now. When I booked it I thought I would be closer to the bridge - the hotel is about halfway between the bridge and castle.

Here's their website:

Just around the corner is David's - a great intimate, small Czech restaurant - a real treat.

Mark, thanks for your comments. It appears that you're the only person on Fodor's who has stayed at this hotel.
I've asked them to reserve a suite with a view of the Charles Bridge; I am hoping it's good.

They say it's 5 min. walk to Charles Bridge and Stare Mesto just beyond that.

Also I believe that Hotel Metamorphis is related to Hotel Constans because there is a link on Constans' website.

Alot of people have posted favorable comments about Metamorphis so hopefully Constans is just as good.

Francophile03-
You won't have a view of the Bridge (if unless rooms on the top floor do - but I think it's only a 4 story building - I would ask them to confirm the view) - the Bridge is about a 5-7 minute walk away.

If you're looking for a hotel with a view of the Bridge - consider this place:

Hello Mark, the hotel says the room I've reserved is #53, 5th floor with view of the bridge and Petrin Hill. This room is what they term a "suite" which I gather is quite spacious.

I'll reconfirm everything later on of course.

How was the shower-good water pressure, shower shield, etc.? They say that the suite has a bath and shower.

Thanks for the advice about Hotel Certovka but the rate at Hotel Constans is really good plus I found tha it is one of the few hotels to offer a/c.

At least the hotel is halfway between the bridge and the Old Town. I was leaning at first to U Krale Karla and then Hotel Neruda but they both seem a bit more further.

If you have other comments about Hotel Constans will be appreciated.

It's a new hotel - so water pressure in the shower was good - a huge reclining bathtub - a bidet - nice furnishings - a garage if you have a car.

That's great to know about the room on the 5th flr.

I would definitely stay there again. I liked being in the Mala Strana - late night walks, wandering the Castle area.

Thanks again-that's good to know! I'm surprised that no one else on Fodor's has stayed here.
