Prague Apartments

We are looking to rent an apartment in Prague for 5 days during the latter part of September. Is anyone familiar with Apartments Comfort located on Drazecki Namesti, 50 meters from the Charles Bridge? Any other recommendations would be appreciated.

We were very happy with Apartment(s) Zatec in May 2003, Rented from www.athos.cz

Your location sounds alright. Ours were maybe 800 yards from the Charles Bridge, perhaps 600 yards from the Old Town Square, maybe only 400 yards from one edge of the Jewish Quarter.

Best wishes,

Rex

You could check the website at www.apartments.cz. We stayed at an apartment on Opatovicka St in a residential area near the National Theatre and it was quiet and comfortable. It is close to the Narodni Trida metro station and the Tesco store is right there. We enjoyed our stay there and would recommend them. They have other apartments to choose from in different areas of Prague.

www.travel.cz

www.apartments.cz (same owners as travel.cz)

www.marys.cz

www.pragueaccomodations.com (I think)

www.athos.cz

There are many more agencies, but these are all high quality. You will not be stuck in a dump, etc

Hi. Can't help with the apartments you're asking about, but we were delighted with the apartment we stayed in last December,Hotel Metamorphis. It is located in a square just behind the Old Town Square.

www.metamorphis.cz

We booked through www.travelcook.com and got a good deal where we got one night free and also free pick-up from the airport. They were excellent to deal with.

Have a great time

Thanks everyone for your responses. We are also looking at an apartment on Ujzed in Mala Strana through Old Town Apartments. Anyone familiar with the location or the company?

Any information or comments regarding any of the above would be appreciatedc. Many thanks.

To JerryS - - perhaps you are posting here in response to my reply to the e-mail from Ann S.

We stayed in Apartments Zatec - -http://www.athos.cz/apartment-zatec - - not Zatecka. It would appear that they are right next door - - i.e Zatecka 10 and Zatecka 16. We thought that the location was excllent. There are numerous photographs on the web page listed above (Zatec, not Zatecka) - - and none is misleading or deceptive in any way. The building which houses Zatec does have an elevator, but for our ("attic&quot apartments - - which we enjoyed immensely - - there was still a half flight of stairs to get TO the elevator, and then a flight AND a half to reach the apartments. So it would definitely not be wheelchair appropriate, for example.

I cannot think of a single negative about this apartment. Nice landlady; scarcely there, but pleasantly available for a few minutes daily - - and very accommodating to us to get to and from our car (parked a mile and a half away, in a secure garage by virtue of a contract, with $10 daily rate) - - including the challenge of getting to it (to leave the city) right after the Prague Marathon.

They are all fine choices, and reputable companies. I would check on the Husova apt to see if the bedroom faces a courtyard or onto the street. Street noise at that particular location can be extremely loud, even very late at night. In general, I always check to see if the bedroom windows are located facing a courtyard. One year, I got a place facing a tram stop, and I slept about 5 hours total in a three week period...!

For Pat M, and at least two other people who have asked me lately about four people in one of the Apartments Zatec. We never considered it. Our three daughters had an apartment with slightly more room than ours (I think), but I did not take sufficient note as to whether or not it would accomodate a fourth person. I have long passed the stage where four people in one family sharing ONE bathroom is appealing to me.

But let me direct you back to the search engine capability of www.athos.cz - - or specifically http://www.athos.cz/accommodation - - it is as good as venere is for Italy. you can specifically search for a "quatro" on the dates you require, and I will repeat my earlier stated opinion that I believe that athos does NOT use deceptive photos.

Searching arbitrarily for late September, I came up with five properties that have a "quatro"; of these, I would personally be attracted to Stupart at the top of the list.

I hope this is helpful to you, and to others, generically, who go to use the search engine on www.athos.cz
