Pound breaks $2. First time in 15 years.

Pardon? Or should I say, "what?!"? A Big Mac is $4?

Anyone's summer plans changing? Yanks staying home? Brits heading right over?

On a related note I am greatly saddened by William & Kate's split, it's too bad when young love runs its course. I haven't seen any posts on the topic here on Fodor's. Surely there must be a Monarchist or two in our midst!

I think there are more things to worry about than a royal split, besides this is a travel site not a gosip column.

I predict that no one will forego a European visit because of dollar devaluation. Airlines are predicting increases in summer travel! USA tourists simply will charge more to their credit cards and defer payment as long as possible. This will be a great summer for the CC business.

And the Treasury Secretary still maintains, with a straight face nonetheless, that the US government supports a strong dollar.

I am going to London for a few days in May. However, I will admit that as result of the strength of the Pound I decided the wise thing to do was trade in my Hotel points for free stays... so that's my plan.

Now I am suppose to go back for Christmas and need to rent an apartment. Hopefully things will get better not worse. (I would hate to be there for the $3 exchange rate!)

We monarchists really don't give a flying fig about young royals' sex lives. In fact, the line of succession is so long, and so well defined, we don't even care whether they have one or not.

I'm not cancelling my trip. I'll just pretend the pound sign is actually a dollar sign, and not think about it after that.

I'm sure that as soon as I return, the pound will sink down to the $1.50 range, as is my usual luck.

It won't stop me from going to London. Nothing does.
