Possible Autumn 2005 London GTG?
I so enjoyed the 2003 and the 2004 GTGs and I'm looking forward to a 2005 edition.
I will be in town from Oct 18-Nov 4 and have only a few plans written in stone at the moment.
So,calling all resident London Fodorites and all visiting Fodorites:
Who is available for lunch or tea or dinner or drinks ?
Shall we compare dates and schedules?
I've already hinted to Kate that I would bring wine should she decide to host a repeat of that fabulous Italian dinner menu she posted. ;-)
Heck, Kate I'd be your sou chef , wash the dishes , and Hoover the floor, too.

Hi Judy, I am very sorry I will not be in London until November 28 this year. I will be in France and Budapest this year in Sept/Oct.
I very much enjoyed tea last year. Hope you have a lovely trip and a big GTG.
I am traveling alone on my big trip in Sept/Oct. (Learned my lesson) My husband has a new job and did not think he would have vacation this year but he was given a week at yearend. A great surprise. We grabbed a BA special with two free hotel nights in London and a free stopover. We are spending 2 nights in London and then going to Munich for 4 nights and will visit the Christmas Mkts. in Munich and Nuremburg. He loves Christmas and is a very big kid when it comes to holidays. I think we will have a great time. Help me wish up some snow. That would be perfect.
Again, anyone in London, you would be delighted to meet Judy.
Best wishes,
gg

GG, nice to hear from you. Sorry that our time in London won't overlap this year.
Your trip to the Christmas markets sound wonderful, please post a report when you get back.
M_K2, the magnum of Crystal was chilled and awaiting your presence at Claridges last year.
If you'd like to meet this year, I'm sure suitable arrangements can be made.
A friend introduced me to Benares in Berkeley Square ( which is your neck of the woods, so to speak. ) We could meet there for a lunch or dinner.

We're in London from Sept. 27 to Oct. 29, with a wedding at the beginning and an invasion of friends from the 17th to the 24th. If the GTG plans work around those dates, I'd love to try to be there.
Carolyn, you are already in my organizer.

Topping in hope there are others who will be able to GTG in London. Toss your possible dates into the pot and let's go from there.
Carolyn and VCL, let's decide on a time and venue in the next couple of weeks.
Kavey, of course our meeting is one that is already written in stone , but I hope you will be able to join a Fodorite GTG as well.

I 'may' be here - I'll be in Italy sometime in October, but hopefully back in time. Not sure I'll have time to open the restaurant though LOL.
I'll keep an eye on this board to see when you're doing it...

Should be fun...
I did enjoy a small Fodorite GTG in London in either 2000 or 2001 but the next one I had sort of organised was set for September 16th 2001 and all of us due to attend chose to cancel it.
Since then I've certainly met many, many, many Fodorites but on an individual basis when they are in London rather than at a group GTG which would be fun.
I organise London GTGs for another web-based community - the theme of that board is photography - and these are always really enjoyable.

I'd like to come along when you have set a date - I've no major plans for that time.
I'm not a London Fodorite (I live in the Cotswolds), but if you let me know when you have decided on a date, I can be a visiting Fodorite!
Looking forward to meeting you all.

My sister will be studying in London from September on, so if you have a date fixed, I might try to make it to London on those dates! I'm already quite sure I'd be the youngest one around, just wonder how much younger than the others

We will be in London in October, but only for 3 nights - so probably I'll miss all the fun. We will be there Oct 4 leaving on the 7th.
If we can't make the GTG date, I do hope the rest of you have a great time!
