I think you were being very sensible mentioning this issue and, of course, very brave.
Unfortunatly, given the destruction this virus has caused, you are wrong to claim that it is "None of anyone's business" it is all our business and will be for a far few more years yet. Hopefully that message has been received and understood.

To answer the original question the Greek government is trying to find hotels now willing to be certified as quarantine hotels. They must provide food. They are willing to pay 45 euro a day. Does that tell you anything about the area and quality? I would ask your son if he wants to stay in a hotel of that quality and eat the food for 45 a day.

Obviously, not related to this specific travel thread, but talk about heartbreaking, the situation in India is dire. Brazil is not much better. Horrifying, with global consequences. Little countries like those in the Caribbean have people going hungry, but if they open up to travel, they will not be able to contain COVID cases.

"Good information. Looks like "Hawaii, here we come".
You had best check the travel requirements for Hawaii. They are different than within the mainland
Here are their regs:
https://hawaiicovid19.com/travel/travel-overview/
In short: specific mandatory tests by labs approved by the state of Hawaii within 72 hours before the flight to Hawaii OR mandatory 10 day quarantine (from what I hear, the quarantine IS enforced)

Yes, he had a positive antibody test the first of April. That is why he wants to wait for a vaccine - he wants to take J&J one-shot vaccine - right now, there are a few issues with that vaccine. With antibodies, he has a little time to wait out the J&J vaccine.

Pretty sure that if you check the rules you would see that you are ONLY allowed on the plane and allowed in the country with a negative test result. My concern is if either of us contracts COVID while in Greece, what would be the government protocol.

From what I've read from CDC website. Travelers should avoid all travel to Greece, because of the current situation in Greece even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants and should avoid all travel to Greece. If you must travel to Greece, get fully vaccinated before travel. All travelers should wear a mask, stay 6 feet from others, avoid crowds, and wash their hands.Level 4: Very High Level of COVID-19 in Greece
