We rented a boat out of Marina della Lobra (Masa Lubrense-30 min drive from Positano)...it was a 20ft boat w/outboard motor...around 40 Euro for two hours....Incredible, you pass close to Capri and Punta della Campanella, although you are free to go anywhere you please....took a bottle of wine and sandwiches on the boat, jumped off and swam in the crystal blue water and soaked up the sunshine. One of our most memorable days in Europe (over 40 trips and counting....)

We rented the boat last September. This is not a company nor is their a sign that advertises the boat. As you walk down towards the harbor (it is a small harbor) there is a man sitting in a lounge chair who will approach you about his boats (I think he has about 3-4 boats 12-20ft). He speaks good English and is very friendly. Not much instructions, you pick out the boat, length of time you want to rent and off you go...not even a deposit). You can rent from one hour to all day.

We ended up spending two nights on Capri...touristy during the day, but amazing at night. We didn't really hang around the town much during the day though- one day was a full 8 hours on the boat! The other day we did a great hike along the coast...amazing views. There are a number of ferries from Positano to Capri, so we took a high speed ferry over to the island. Have fun!
