We are planning a trip for a week from Boston to Benagil, Carvoeiro, Portugal but want to stay in Lisbon for 2 days before we head there. Any ideas for where to stay, what to see and finally how to get to Benagil from Lisbon. There are two of us traveling.

Hi Linda - Lisbon is a great place to visit, with loads of history and culture, great food and friendly people. On my fist visit I connected with an American woman now living in Portugal who on one day met me at the market (Mercado da Ribeira, aka Time Out Market) where we shopped for food items that we took to her apartment and used to prepare and savor a lovely traditional Portugese lunch. Another day she picked me up at my hotel and we drove to a couple wineries in the nearby Alentejo area, with lunch at one of them. Absolutely recommend Maureen, and you can contact her via her website.

You don't state if you're driving or taking public transport from Lisbon to Benagil.
If you're driving use google maps directions.
If taking public transport,you can take the train or the bus. Both depart from Lisbon to Portimao, ( the nearest city to Benagil), and then take a taxi to Benagil.
