Will arrive in Lisbon Friday morning. Five nights there, followed by four in Porto. (I know my title says 10 nights--forgot that one will be on a plane.) After much agonizing, decided to stay based in the cities and take day trips or half-day trips depending on whim or weather. In Lisbon we are staying at the Corpo Santo hotel. Two dinner reservations: 100 Manieras for my husband's birthday and Frade dos Mares.

I'd love restaurant recommendations for small neighborhood (any neighborhood) places, also anywhere vegetarian friendly. Is there anywhere to hear fado that doesn't feel completely touristy? I think I have a handle on the major sights, but would love to know of any others you love.

We will take a train to Porto. Do I need to get tickets in advance?

I can try to update this as we go along, or make a separate trip report later. Thanks for all of your suggestions!

Jen
