Portovenere: Belvedere vs Grand Hotel Portovenere?

Which would you chose? A seaview at the Belvedere, or a non-sea view at the Grand Hotel Portovenere? They work out to be almost the same price....
As always, thank you!!

I have been to Portovenere on day trips but not overnighted at these hotels.

Seems to me the views are really special here so I would opt for seaview. It really is a pretty place and the scenery is magnificent!

Ditto on kfusto's comments. If Bob the Navigator's gets online, he can provide firsthand feedback on this query.

The hotels are a different class--the GHP is a modern 4 star. The location is virtually the same--50 yards apart. I have done both and would choose based on the specific room at the Belvedere or Paradiso. If the room is good sized and has a good view then go for it. My last trip I had a sea view with balcony at GHP--but that is a splurge for me.

I agree with Bob, take the seaview at either the Belvedere or the Paradiso. I have stayed at all three, I love this area and the view from your room/balcony is what it is all about, although the GHP is lovely and has a wonderful breakfast, but you would want a room overlooking the main square and sea. The Belvedere and Paridiso are very nice 3* accomodations, you shouldn't be disappointed. I would stay at any of them again.
