Pompeii-dinner near Forum Hotel

We are pretty much set for our trip to Pompeii before meeting up with our tour in Rome, but we still need to get restaurant recommendations. After traveling from the States to Rome, and then taking the train and Circumvesuviana to reach Forum Hotel in Pompei,we will be pretty tired. We are looking for a decent place for dinner in that area without having to travel further.
Does anyone know of a place easily reached from the hotel without having to go into Sorrento?

Hmmmmmmmmm! This request has been (virtually) ignored before--either I am barking up the wrong tree, or something is wrong with my planning.

Anybody out there with some comments?

I have heard of a noted restaurant in the town of Pompeii but I can't for the life of me remember the name. I think ask at your hotel for a recommendation. In the meantime I will search around for the name. I know of some in the neighboring towns but that is a schlep, better to stay in town after the long trip.

It is Il Principe!

Be sure and have the Mastroberardino wine made locally.

This was recommended by a longtime poster who lived in the region:

This is the third time I am writing to thank SeaUrchin for the two suggestions. Either three thank yous will eventually appear on the board, or they are all disappearing into cyberspace! So, Sea Urchin, grazie for the dining suggestions. You can't imagine how relieved I am to have your recommendations for dining in Pompei.
What would we do without all the helpful posters on this site?

it's a few years later, so I thought I'd see if these 2 restaurants are still recommended
