Here is the reason why the Paris police can't put an end to pickpocketing:<BR><BR>Staffing -- you need not only the decoy, but also at least 3 or 4 other police around the decoy to watch where the wallet goes. Getting the hand that was in your pocket is useless -- the wallet is the proof and that hand no longer has the wallet (it's LONG gone to an accomplice or two or three).<BR><BR>Now, you have to consider how many Metro stations, how many trains. How many police will you need? The number is practically exponential. <BR><BR>And just because they didn't get the ones who took your wallet doesn't mean that they don't catch pickpockets. <BR><BR>From these responses it would seem that your destined to have your pocket picked in European cities (Paris in particular).
