Plymouth to Amberley

My husband and I are driving from Plymouth to Amberley Castle as part of our 10 day trip around England. Can anyone recommend a route and/or places to see along the way?

How many days do plan for the drive? If you mean in just one day with no stop overs -- it will be about a 5 hour drive without stops. The most direct route will Take you along the Dorset coast and through the New Forest so no need to detour much. With stops in say Lyme Regis and/or Dorchester (both worth stopping) and driving through the New Forest it will be an ALL day drive. With a detour to Beaulieu and Bucklers Hard (both VERY worthwhile but time consuming) the drive would be about 6 hours plus stops - so really a two day drive.
