drive from Lindau to Fussen

Can anyone tell me how long the drive is from Lindau to Fussen?

What about from Lindau to Garmisch-Partenkirchen?

I'm trying to come up with an itinerary that will make a variety of extended family members happy. I was hoping that if we stayed at Lindau--some could relax by the lake while others could do some Alpine hiking. Wondering if this is realistic?

(I suppose this would also work in Konstanz--with doing the hiking in swiss alps--but we wanted to do some hikes on the Alpspitz).

Any help anyone can give would be much appreciated!

We have made a round trip from fussen to lindau in one day but I can't remember how long. Use via micheln and it will give you times. I think it was about 2 hrs but that is just a guess. Another option is Meersberg but that adds on about 35 min.

Input trip legs on www.viamichelin.com or www.mappy.com and input your dates (the sites know in advance about road closures and such). You'll get detailed driving instructions, timings, maps etc.

Hi Ca,

www.viamichelin.com will take you along the highway.

Choose the route via Oberstaufen and Wertach for the scenic drive along the Alpenstrasse. About 2hr.

Here is the advise from someone who has done this trip dozens of time:

Lindau on the A-96 north to exit 3. B-308 (Deutsche Alpenstrasse) to Oberstaufen- Immenstadt (I grew up there)- Sonthofen - Hindelang - Oberjoch (an easy pass route). Austrian B-199 Tannheim - haldensee- Weissenbach. B-198 to Reutte, then follow signs to Fuessen. Total km:115. Driving leisurely 2 1/2 hrs.

Hi C,

Treplow's route is, of course, superior to mine.

Be sure to get a "vignette" (road tax sticker" for Austria.
