This may come too late but wanted to warn that the City pubs will be quiet/ dead on a Sunday. is the Cheshire Cheese even open on Sunday? Why not save the City pubs for a week night? On Sunday you might like to make the East London scene: take bus to Liverpool Strret station, explore Spitalfields, Brick Lane, Columbia flower market. There are some famous old pubs in the area , very atmospheric. Timeout las free London app and good section on pubs.

Well, that seems conclusive! Best save the City pubs for week night. There are definitely 'Sunday' things Londoners like. A Sunday pub roast is an obvious one, along with a walk to walk it off. Ian mcKellan's pub on the water in Limehouse is fun: the Grapes. Sorry not to provide links and details. Am writing this hastily on a trip to China and connexion is shaky. I suggested the East London 'scene' in response to your self description as youngish couple. Am always amazed when I am at Columbia Flower Market how popular it is with couples as a romantic destination. A bit annoying actually to those of us after bare root perennials, to have to dodge kissing couples....I gather they come for the vintage stores, street musicians, coffee shops. I am not a fan of Borough market. Lovely walks along the river but you can do that from Tate Modern, Globe, etc. there is another, better foodie destination closel by. i am blanking on the name but Timeout should have it, along with any article on the market. Have you checked UK sites for info, eg the Guardian has Londonnguide and it is a free site. Have fun. Do hope it is not this weekend you are there, apparently a severe front is coming in.

London has a lot of museums, almost all of which are free. You don't have enough time for many. Especially if you're spending a day in Bath. Much as I like Bath, I'd save that for another trip, particularly if you're traveling in the winter with its short days.
I applaud you for not filling up every minute. Resist the temptation of so many places to see. You will return.
Now, having said that, have you checked out the London walks? www.walks.com. There are some pub tours that might fit your schedule, and many other options.
