I'll tell you one thing that my elderly mother in Delray Beach did to try to keep from losing her mind. She's anything but a Pollyanna, but every time she woke up on Saturday night with Jeanne raging around her, she tried to remind herself that at least she wasn't one of those poor people in Haiti who'd met Jeanne there.

Kismet, actually she's not at all positive. But it's been a terrible year for her, and I think that she's willing to try anything, even unaccustomed positive thinking, to keep from going over the edge! And I think it did help.

I'm glad to hear that so many of our Floridians are OK, but we still haven't heard from Shanna since the storm, at least not on this thread. Shanna, I know you might not have power right now, but when it comes back on, please post and let us know you're OK.

Fodor's folks are the best. Thanks for all your concerns and prayers. I posted to another thread when I got back home from this storm. My neighborhood held up well (built by Burg & DiVosta); again mostly vegetative damage. Some people had some roof leakage but we're pretty lucky in this section of Northern Palm Beach County. Traffic lights still aren't working which makes driving anywhere a very long trip. I haven't been down to the beach yet but plan to go today just to see what may have happened there. My focus now is Italy on Friday!! Again, thanks to all.
