Someone asked: "If you think the inside of Westminster Abbey isn't worth the small admission charge why on earth are you going to London?"
First, 10 pounds (22 pounds per family) is hardly small.
Second, I can think of many reasons for going to London other than to go inside WA.
Personally I prefer to see living breathing cities brimming with living breathing locals. A walk on Hampstead Heath, a wander around Camden Town Markets, rubbing shoulders with the crowd at Speakers Corner in Hyde Park, dropping in to an old coaching inn somewhere. I do the old old historic stuff too - but not at 10 pounds a pop or 20 pounds for the two of us when you can see impressive places elsewhere for far less.

Neopolitan, I think you're being too hard on Helen. Read all the posts and see that she's rethought her position on Westminster Abbey.
And, while I have seen the abbey myself and thought it quite impressive, I can still understand why someone would not want to spend 10 pounds to see it. There are many other lovely churches in London that are free. I'd be very happy sticking to those. Nothing outrageous about that at all...
