Please suggest Paris hotels: centrally located

Hi, could you recommend hotels for a week in Paris in August for a honeymoon?

Here are our requirements:
-We'd like to spend around (or less than) $350 a night and be in a very central location.
-Personally, I prefer a more modern/minimalist look (my fiance doesn't care).
-We both like to walk, and it doesn't matter if we're on the right or left bank, but we would like to be close to the river either way.
-We definitely need air conditioning.

Thank you for your help!

Hi Ira,

I found those, thanks...

I reposted so I could put the city in the title.

Thank you!

Just returned 10/13 stayed at Hotel Francois 1er, 7,Rue Magellan in the 8th district. Boutique hotel, priced at about $363 per nite. Two blocks off Champs Elysees, at Metro stop George Cinq. Very fine hotel, beautifully decotated, air, fantastic breakfast unlike usual type with all kinds of foods.Small bar, nice public rooms, great service just a wonderful experience. Can walk to the Etoile and about 10 minute walk to Point Alma on Seine.

Hi -

We were out walking tonight and spotted a neat hotel in a great location in the 7th arr. The area has great shops and is one-half block off Blvd St Germain. A metro is nearby. We have not stayed there but it is worth checking out. It is in your price range and has a/c. It is a 3 star and the name is Hotel Des Saints-Peres. Look it up under www.esprit-de-france.com

We just stayed in what was, for us, the perfect Paris hotel, the HENRI IV RIVE GAUCHE. It's a 3-star on Rue St. Jacques in the 5th, just one block from the Seine and Notre Dame.

The decor is not French-fussy but soft, clean traditional. New (about 2003) and ideally located for sightseeing (nearby metro and RER stations). Absolutely LOVED the location. Our twin-bedded room was 162 euros (about $200) a night. Stayed 8 nights.

The Renaissance Paris Vendome Hotel (owned by Marriott) might fit the bill - it is very highly rated on Trip Advisor, appears to have a minimalist look, is very central in the 1st (on a quiet street a short block from the Jardin des Tuileries and of course quite close to the Seine), has AC and is well within your price range for August. Bonus - there is nice small pool.

I have not stayed there yet, we have a week booked in April 06 on points, but the reviews I have found so far are very good.
