I'd try and stay out in the fresh air as much as possible after a flight in coach, you need natural light so the first day maybe should include walks in the park rather than an early night.

Tuesday before or after the Dungeon, how about the millenium eye, that's a lovely trip. I went to the dungeon last year for my birthday and was really worried but it wasn't too scary! Lol

Thanks for your suggestions. Many good tips!

We are going to Sky Garden so I wasn't so sure if we should do London Eye. I think it would be cool especially if we go for the night view since we are seeing Sky Garden in the daytime. I wish Big Ben was not going to be covered up!

I have notified the car service to pick us up at 6 AM for Heathrow.

For a possible weekend activity, I have gotten in touch with an art studio that will do a "bespoke painting session." £50 for a 1 hour session. If I want to join, it will be £65 for me and my teen. I thought a nice painting of a London scene would be a great souvenir for this trip.

The Sky Garden and the Eye are completely different experiences and the view from the Eye is more all encompassing.

Kids will love the London Dungeon, one of the most popular paid sites in London - I also like the famous Madame Tussaud's,where you can have your pictures taken standing next to Trump!

Rather expensive but very popular with Brits.

Why would anyone want to have their picture taken standing next to Trump? IMO, Madame Tussaud's is one of the greatest rip-offs on the planet.

Jamila, I think your painting session sounds lovely, though I couldn't manage to paint much of anything in an hour. But surely it will result in a great souvenir.

. . . From someone who hasn't visited Mme Tussauds' since probably Jimmy Carter's was the current POTUS image. - you certainly do have a lot of opinions about it.

(Was wondering how long it would take you contribute your usual - Jamilla mentioned the Dungeon early yesterday morning -- must be slipping)

I got the painting session confirmed for 6 PM at this place located at 2B Bassein Park Rd, White City, London W12 9RY. Does anyone know if this is a safe area to be leaving after dark to take the tube back to our hotel at St. James Park? It looks like it's about a 13 minute walk to the Stamford Brook tube station.

I have done both -- the Sky Garden twice and the Eye probably 10X -- they are not similar experiences . . . except that one can see a long way IF the weather is cooperating

Yes - its is safe. But will it be dark? I know the trip is soon but unless it is in the next week it will still be light. Summer time starts 31 March and sunset will be after 7:30 PM. But even if its this week -- sunset is at 6:30-ish so will still be dusk when your art lesson ends.

It's next week. I checked online and sunset will be at 6:25 PM. The studio said they can do a 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM session so we should be fine.
