5alive: Lots of good points. We will have a late breakfast before the tour and have lunch and snacks along the way on the 5 hour tour. I think we should be ok based on previous travels with these kids. No grandparents. I agree we can always split up if needed. One person in our group is really into the Louvre so if some of the group get tired, we can always leave and let the others take their time.

Do you think hiring a private guide to give a tour of Montmartre neighborhood is necessary? Context Tours is offering a 2.5 hour tour for kids. Or is this a place you can start at the top of the Sacre Coeur via funicular and make our way down and wander around?

I totally agree with 5alive that a guided tour of Montmartre is unnecessary and just to let them all "absorb the place." I think teens will come away from such a trip with their own very personal memories and that those will be far more precious than anything a guide shows them.
