Please recommend a cheap hotel in Dublin

Hi, we will be spending a night or 2 in Dublin before heading to Dingle. Can anyone recommend a hotel downtown? Our main considerations are 1) location, 2) price. We don't need a washroom in the room or anything like that, just a room that's not too disgusting. Thanks.

We're staying at the Central Hotel, a real bargain for the location. You may also want to look at Jury's. I believe they have a set price for all rooms. Good luck

Natasha, can you define "too disgusting"? How many such hotels have you already stayed in in "downtown" Dublin, wherever that is? I am from Dublin... Maybe you should just stay home...

Hi,

Disregard the above rude comment. I also travel on a limited budget.

I've just reserved a room at the Harding Hotel in Dublin. It was roughly $70/night, has its own bathroom and it's a very central location. You can reserve online (just do a search for the hotel).

I'll post a review of the hotel when I return in late June. I'm not expecting much, just a place to sleep that's not too disgusting.

PW

Gaelgeoir: I'm sorry if I offended you. I have never been to Dublin but have travelled to many places and enjoyed every one of them. As other budget travelers will understand, what I meant was that we are not extremely hard to please, we are not expecting perfect accomodations. We don't want to stay in a 5 star hotel with room service but we would like to find a clean safe room that works with our tight budget.
Everyone else: thank you for for the suggestions so far, please keep them coming.

Natasha:

Not sure if you want to stay in the city center. I stayed at Jury's and it was fine. Very comfortable, not luxurious. about E105 for the room. The city center is much more expensive than outlying areas. I've stayed at the Ibis on the outskirts (right at M50 and N7) and it was just like the jury's and cost about 55 Irish pounds). That was two years ago.

This year we stayed at The Reefs B&B in Skerries and is was great. They had a room ready for us by 11:00 AM so that we could take a quick nap before heading out. You can catch a bus right into City Center just outside her door. In addition, You are looking out your window onto the Irish Sea. This one got big applause from me. You can find her on the Town and Country website. Price was less than E30 per person and included a HUGE breakfast.

Hope this helps.

Bill
