Please help with Europe Itinerary!

This is my first post although I've been a lurker for some time now. My husband and I are finalizing our plans for our Europe trip this June. Please let me know what you think of our itinerary...specifically if we should save Venice for another trip:

June 17 - Travel to Rome

June 18-21 Arrive Rome early afternoon of
the 18th(3.5 days, 4 nights)

June 22nd - Take first train to Venice
(June 22-23, 2 nights Venice)

June 24 - Take first flight from Venice to Paris (June 24-28, 4 nights Paris)

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks so much!

Hi T,

The only criticism I could make is to fly into Venice and out of Paris and skip Rome.

Very good itinerary.

Echoing ira, this is a good itinerary. You won't see everything in any of the cities but you'll get a good overview (and probably a taste to return for longer visits!)

Hi

Skip Rome? No way. Venice is lovely but Rome is a must. Itinerary is fine.

Buon viaggio

Have you booked airfare yet? Will you have a car or be traveling by train? You definitely need to finalize hotels and air travel soon for June.

Thanks for the replies!

Yes, we have all hotels booked and airfare as well (excluding the airfare from Venice to Paris. I was holding off on this one until we were 100% sure we were going there!)

I wouldn't go to Venice at height of the tourist season for just 1-1/2 days. I'd save it for when I had at least 4 full days available. You'll be contending with crowds of daytrippers--with 4 or 5 days you can catch the best known sights before the mass of daytrippers arrives and after they leave each day, missing the worst of the crowds.
