Please help me pick a hotel in Nice

My wife and I are traveling to Nice for the first time this summer. I've been sifting through the hotels on Booking.com and need some help. I've looked at the Hotel Grimaldi and B4 Nice. I am open to other suggestions and would pay up to E250 a night for a nice hotel near the Promenade and close to the city center We like to walk and need a central base for a week. . Could you please help us?

Thank you

If your budget allows, I'd go with the historic Hotel Negresco.

Last summer we stayed at Hotel Aston laScala. Our room faced the park, was about a 5 min. Walk to the boardwalk, and a few minutes to the old town. Great views from the room.

It was modern, clean aND had a small lounge on the top floor.
The pool was tiny though, so we swam in the sea. We didn't eat breakfast there, either, but there were several breakfast options nearby.

After much ado I chose the Mercure Nice hotel Grimaldi for location, good reviews and decent size rooms (superior) for around your budget. Our stay is in September, so can't give a review yet.

Have you thought about an apartment? there are many to choose from. We are going in Oct. and using the agency Nice Pebbles. Just a thought.

Thank you so much for your suggestions, many hotels are booked for our time period, but thanks to all and especially suce1, the apartment idea looks very interesting.

Thank you for taking the time to respond!

Check out the Hôtel Suisse, right at the upper end of the Promenade and a short walk from Vieux Nice. Most windows look down along the Promenade to the end of the bay; you can see the views that drew Matisse and Dufy to the spot.

Look at Hotel Windsor. It is in a very nice neighborhood area, has interior garden with a pool. We stayed in a nearby apt and loved this area.

Steve,
it is not a hotel but an apartment were I stayed for 1 month last year. Center of Old Town. Restaurants and bars 1 step away from your front door. 5 times bigger and cheaper than a hotel. Very easy to book.
