Please help me follow the warmth!
We plan on a month in Europe next November. We would like not to rent a car, preferring to use buses, trains etc for day trips.
We would like to spend two weeks in an apt. in Nerja, Spain and two weeks in an apt. on the Almafi coast - probably Positano.
Is there a preference weather-wise to spend Italy the first half or the second half of the month? Is the weather about the same in both places that time of the year?
Logistically, what would work best? Fly from Toronto to Malaga first and then to Naples or to Naples and then to Malaga to end in Spain?
And finally any idea what I can expect to pay for a one bedroom apt. with a sea view in each place? Any recommendations? Thanks

Personally, I twould go crazy spending 2 weeks in Positano at any time of the year. Not nearly enough to do for that length of time. It is beautiful but 4 days is more than enough. This is especially true in November: too cold for the water, rough seas restict the ferries, and many stores, hotesl, restaurants are closed. Perhaps Sicily would be better if you really want warmer weather.

Thanks for the feedback. My husband and I are retiring and wanted to spend a relaxing month by the sea. We really hate packing, unpacking and constantly moving. Is there any place you would recommend to do this? Soaking up the local area, etc.? We could probably go in October if that would be better?

October would be better - especially early to mid October. You can probably find better weather in Florida than in southern Europe in November. Both Spain and Italy can be rainy then and it is definitely not warm enough to swim or enjoy the beaches. I suggest Nerja and perhaps Sicily in October.

Go to: http://www.wunderground.com/global/
and click on the area you are interested in. Once you get down to a specific city, click on the history link on the page to get very detailed listings of the weather for that area going back several years.

Hi bashful.
>two weeks in an apt. on the Almafi coast <
We spent a week on the Ac (see my trip report, http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34451044 )
That was about right.
>We could probably go in October ..<
Much better.
Have you considered Sicily?
