I don't understand because both boat launches-- Thun and Brienz--are at Interlaken West and Interlaken Ost respectively.

The boat for Lake Brienz is right behind Interlaken Ost Train Station.

The boat for Lake Thun is right behind Interlaken West.

So I have no idea whether you are listing boat or train connections.

You seem to be copying an itin. or info. from a guidebook where we giving advice have actually been to the BO many times.

Pepper_von_snoot: I don't think you have carefully looked into my plan of day 1 in detail. It's very clear below what you are asking me.

Interlaken Ost -> Lake Brienz -> Train back to Interlaken OST -> Take Break -> Interlaken West -> Lake Thun Ths -> Take train from Thun ThS to Bern -> Walk around -> Take train back to Luzern.

Day 1 (April 21st) Lake cruise to Thun, Brienz and Bern (Old town, Cathedral, Clock tower and Federal building).

• From Interlaken Ost dp 9:07 AM to reach Brienz Brs 10:20.
• Take train back to Interlakan Ost.
Take rest or go to hotel to refresh.

• Lake cruise to Thun from Interlakan
• Interlaken West ThS Neuhaus (Unterseen) dp 12:10/14:10 pm to Thun ThS M ar 14:20/16:20
• Take train to Bern from Thun.
• Vist Bern - Would like to do only the Old town, Cathedral, Clock tower and Federal building.
• Take train back to Interlakan.

"You seem to be copying an itin. or info. from a guidebook where we giving advice have actually been to the BO many times." -> I don't think I could get such a specific detailed itin. in any of the forums for a specific day as there are not many boats sailing on the day of April 21st (+/- 1 or 2 days) as per schedule given on their site. It's all my hard work combined with all expert advise like yours.

@ Pepper_von_snoot: Please advise on my previous comment:

"I can't see you pushing a stroller from Stechelberg to Lauterbrunnen" - Is it steep that will be hard to push stroller? If it is we will get baby carrier mentioned in the post above

kenav: I don't know either if there is any discount on early morning train to Jangrau. It has been informaed by 'just_wandering on Mar 31, 13 at 8:31am' and I requested more information from him. I may be talking about 'Good Morning' ticket train that runs from May to October, at 6.35 h from Interlaken Ost, but it's not applicable in our case as we plan to visit Jangfrau in beween April 21st - April 23rd, 2013.

http://shop.jungfrau.ch/en/good-morn...t-jungfraujoch
*** Compiled from above link ***
"This ticket is only valid for the uphill journey from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch at 08.00 h and the latest possible descent from Jungfraujoch is at 12.00 h. No reductions for children or holders of a Half-Fare Card or General Pass."

Luzern is beautiful and quaint, but a full day there is almost too much I found. We went up beautiful Mt Pilatus in the morning via cable car, but after that we wandered around, saw the Lion Monument ( MUST SEE!!) and then found ourselves a bit stuck for what else to do after 2pm.

genhassall: Which day trip are you talking about specifically where full day will be a lot. I plan to go to Rigi and Titlis.

I also feel the same IMO that I may end of having a lot of time based on my given plan above. But I am getting mixed reviews mainly telling me that my current plan given above is too aggressive even though I cut shot many of the attractions from original plan to feel more comfortable before we leave from USA.

But in case we end up getting extra free time, I already researched that I could visit Lion mounment, Glacier Gardens and Transport Museum or a trip to Lake Lucerne

Logical itinerary in order to link the places you mention:
ZRH - Lucerne, day trips Vitznau-Rigi and Engelberg-Titlis,
Lucerne - train - Brienz - boat - Interlaken,
Daytrip Interlaken - Grindelwald - Jungfraujoch - Lauterbrunnen (Truemmelbach etc.) - Interlaken,
Golden Pass Panoramic Express Interlaken - Zweisimmen - Gstaad - Montreux, citybus from Montreux to Chillon and back,
boat from Montreux to Lausanne and direct train to either Geneva airport or Zurich airport

Well the Stechleberg to Lauterbrunnen trail I took was completely flat - follows a gurgling stream much of the way but if I recall correctly it may have been pebbles at some point or much of the way and thus not easy to push a stroller over - but steep it ain't - totally flat.

I haven't been there yet, and so probably shouldn't comment, but I think I read somewhere that there is no sidewalk on the road from Stechelberg to Lauterbrunnen, so one should be prepared to step off the road whenever one hears a car coming. No idea if that's true....

You do not walk along the road from Stechelberg to Lauterbrunnen. You walk along a gravel path that passes in front of Stabbauch Falls.

The post bus takes the road route through Lauterbrunnen.

The path is flat , but it is a few miles long.

Thanks neckervd. Below are my concerns and questions based on the itinerary you have suggested:

Day 1 : Vitznau-Rigi
Day 2: Engelberg-Titlis
Day 3: April 23rd - Tuesday Lucerne - train - Brienz - boat - Interlaken -
Day 4: Daytrip Interlaken - Grindelwald - Jungfraujoch - Lauterbrunnen (Truemmelbach etc.) - Interlaken,
Day 5: Golden Pass Panoramic Express Interlaken - Zweisimmen - Gstaad - Montreux, citybus from Montreux to Chillon and back, boat from Montreux to Lausanne and direct train to either Geneva airport or Zurich airport

On Day 3, April 23rd, Tuesday BLS cruise doesn't sail from Brienz to Interlaken Ost BrS. They sail only on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 29.3. to 21.4 and Daily from 27.4. to 8.5. [Refer to timetable for Lake Brienz: http://www.bls.ch/e/schifffahrt/fahrplan.php]
On Day 4: I plan to do Wengen on the day we go to the Jungfrau as the Jungfrau doesn't take all day so we could see Wengen on the way down. And then on other day we will go up and see Murren in the morning and stop at the Trummelbach Falls on the way back from there. That way we get to see both sides of the valley.

Please refer to Day 3 of my post above (sm2707 on Mar 31, 13 at 7:06a) for details on our day to Lauterbrunnen. Experts on forums mentioned that the way I planned Day 3 could take entire day and will be a good trip.

Other comments: On your itinerary, we are missing:

1) Trip to Bern to cover(Old town, Cathedral, Clock tower and Federal building).
2) Day trip to Wengen.
3) I like the way you have planned the day 5. I have reserved VIP seats on the Golden pass train from Montreux dp 15:44 to Zweisimmen. Could your Day 5 plan be changed in a way that we can take golden pass on this route even though we are taking GP in the morning from Interlaken - Zweisimmen - Gstaad - Montreux and still be able to do Lausanne Ferry over Lake Geneva. Or VIP seats reservation fare could be refunded/changed.

If I recall Pepper von Snout is correct - I remember a gravel path - crushed gravel so easy to walk but not perhaps to push a stroller but I also remember walking on a small paved road - maybe I got off the path for some reason but you can easily see cars and farm vehicles coming from a distance.

The map shows a small agricultural road on the Western side of the Lutschine river:

click into the map at the place where you guess Lauterbrunnen and zoom as much as you can

hey hey - don't matter where you go - Switzerland is gorgeous everywhere - even its cities which are literally dwarfed by the Alpine areas in tourist attention are some of the most very pleasant in all of Europe.
