Planning first trip to Ireland

I am planning a 10 day driving tour of Ireland at the end of September. Do I have to make reservations for my room stays or can I just wonder around and still find a place for the night?

Jane196,
It would be helpful if you could tell us what type of accommodations you will be looking for and the price range.

Hotel or B and B would be fine. I am prepared to spend up to 100 Euros a night.

Jane196,

I think you'll be OK finding a place for that amount except In Dublin. It's very, very expensive. If you are flying in and out of Dublin, you might want to make those reservations.

Happy planning, Joan

At the end of Sept. you should be fine but here is what has always worked for me. If there is an Irish Tourist Board Office where your at they will find you a place for a small booking fee. If No Tourist Board Office I have stopped at a local B&B and if they don't have space they will call around and find you a spot. It is usually a small community and they work together. Have fun
