Plane Tickets to Venice
I'm trying to find some cheap fares from NYC to Venice, but I haven't been able to find any. Does anyone know of different places to find cheap tickets? Everything is so expensive right now. Help!

The job of trying to find air fare bargains depends a bit on how pressed you re to secure the purchase: Feb 25 is very different from July 25 from October 25. What have you tried? Consolidators? Mobissimo? Have you been watching for a week? a month?
Knowing dates and the target price you seek will lead to better advice.
Best wishes,
Rex

Cheap direct fares to Venice may be hard to come by. Few carriers have direct NYC-VCE so seats go quickly. If you try connecting through London, Paris, or Frankfurt, you may have better luck.
Also, be flexible about your dates if possible. A few years ago I was looking for JFK-VCE at the end of June into July. My first choice was not available. We backed the dates up a week: available, but $1200 per coach ticket. We back up three days: $900 per ticket. We backed up the departure date one day: $650 per ticket. Again, we backed up the departure date one day: $900 per ticket. We grabbed the $650 ticket. I did all this manipulating over the phone with an airline reservationist.

Here are some websites to check that I've bookmarked from recos here
http://www.itasoftware.com/
http://www.mobissimo.com/travel/search_airfare.php
But I think your best bet may be flying into London and taking a plane from there. BMI (flybmi.com) flies from Heathrow to VCE. The other carriers go from Gatwick which is a pain if you fly into LHR.

Fly to the UK and use one of the Low Cost carriers into Venice or Treviso www.easyjet.com & www.ryanair.com

I tried posting this before but it did not go through so here goes? Delta Airlines flies nonstop from JFK to Venice and I believe that they are the only USA carrier that does (Alitalia will have you making connections in Milan or Rome). Check it out for possiblities? Good luck!

Thanks for all the replies! I'm going to look into some of those. I'm a student, so I can't go until I'm done with class, so the earliest day that I can fly out is on May 27th (silly school) which is a Friday. I've noticed that if I fly out in May, it's a little cheaper, but not by much.
