Pitlochry in April: Help. . .
Any suggestions for lodging in Pitlochry, Scotland? My wife and I are planning a visit there by rail from York in early April. We're looking to stay three (3) nights. Your suggestions and insights would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, in advance for your help. Rgds, Ando.

Pitlochry is wall to wall hotels and B&Bs. What sort of place do you like?
The top end is the Atholl Palace. I'm very fond on the Moulin Inn, about a mile from the main street, which brews its own beer, and there are dozens of perfectly OK three star hotels and tiny guest houses. You need to narrow down a bit, I think

Hi Sheila. We're looking for a modest, two-star type small hotel, inn, or B&B; something quiet, clean, accessible, inexpensive. We're walkers, so we'll be spending a good deal of time and energy being "out and about." Thanks for your reply. Ando.

We recently returned from our vacation in Scotland and just wanted to pass along a recommendation to a wonderful B & B we stayed at in Pitlochry. It is the Wellwood House and our stay there really enhanced an already fabulous time we were having in Scotland. The property is large and beautiful, rates reasonable, breakfast was great and the hosts couldn't of been nicer. Web Site: www.smoothhound.co.uk/hotels/wellwood.html
