Pisa/Lucca vs. Sienna

We will be staying in Greve in Chianti in a few weeks & are trying to come up with a day trip. We are trying to decide between a drive to Pisa & Lucca & then possibly down the coast a bit or Sienna. We may also try to combine a few sites in Florence w/ the Sienna trip-is this realistic? We fly into Florence around noon & are hoping to go to Accademia (already have reservastions) & see a few other sites but if we are delayed/too tired we may want to head back to Florence for a morning or afternoon. Any opinions? TIA!

I liked both Pisa and Siena, but would pick the latter if I could only see one.

And I'd rather have more than one or two half-days in Florence.

Hi BJ,

A. I prefer Siena to Pisa/Lucca, especially if the floor of the Duomo will be uncovered.

B. Florence is worth at least 1 full day.

See Siena and Monteriggioni one day and Volterra and San Gimignano the next. Pisa is a long drive.
